Symbian to Fully Endorse HTML 5
In response to a question on the official stance of Symbian Foundation regarding future HTML5 capabilities for developing native-quality web apps, the Development Tools Manager at Symbian Foundation says, "Symbian Foundation is fully embracing HTML5. Symbian^4 will take a big step forward and we’re encouraging our contributors to move as fast as possible. Check this out for a snapshot of the progress."
The Symbian Foundation was established by industry-leading mobile device manufacturers. It provides, manages and unifies the Symbian platform for download and development. The platform code is now available to all for free, under the Eclipse Public License, meaning that any individual or organization can take, use and modify the code for any purpose, whether that be for a mobile device or for something else entirely.
